About the distance learning activity:
Assessment and Evaluation in Research-Investigation and Argumentation Based Science Education:
Evaluation of the learning outcomes in research-investigation based science learning environments, requires understanding what conceptual learning and student centered education are. Argumentation is an important practice in scientific research and an alternative, modern assessment and evaluation framework has to be formed in order to evaluate the pedagogical learning outcomes of the students. Therefore, this distance learning activity aims to define the holistic nature of education, pedagogy and learning and recapitulate the original assessment and evaluation methods in argumentation based science education. Evaluation of conceptual learning through open ended questions, rubrics and learning based writing activities will also be discussed and sample tools will be shared during the training.
